River Ground Water and Sediment Quality

The conceptual Model for sampling the MSU campus water has been developed which is displayed below.

The strategy for sampling includes collection of samples from various outfall locations along the river having different flow conditions, varying climatic conditions.

S = stream monitoring site ,W= Water monitoring site.

Water Sampling Strategy:

  • Four sites along river, sampling for low flow conditions
  • Four sites along river, sampling for storm/snow melt events
  • Approximately ten outfalls sampled approximately 4 times each.

General Campus groundwater chemistry is not expected to vary temporally. Therefore it is proposed that only one set of samples be taken.
